Job Summary: This role is responsible for developing revenue and AR management processes and leading 2-3 members’ finance team. This role will own all finance operations is a high-growth growth start-up for revenue and A/R management. This role will directly report to the VP- of Finance and will work very closely with the Head of Sales and customer success and will have high visibility in the organization.

Job Description 

  1. Lead core accounting activities pertaining to revenue and A/R areas of the finance, including month close coordination, internal management reporting, and general accounting for India and US operations.
  2. Leading a small team of accountants to ensure timely and accurate revenue accounting, billing, collection, and SaaS revenue KPI tracking and fund management
  3. Responsible for monthly SaaS revenue reconciliation with billing and booking (customer contracts) and working closely with Sales Ops and other business teams for timely and accurate revenue recognition
  4. Responsible for timely review of credit notes, contract modifications, expansion/contraction of customer business, Sales Order set up, and recurring billing procedures.
  5. Responsible for meeting customer collection targets, keeping old A/R under controls, timely escalation of customer collection issues, and proposal of AR Reserve/sales return reserve, etc
  6. Work collaboratively with Sales, Customer Success, Business operations, and other functions to be a trusted partner in internal initiatives and provide support from a finance standpoint to ensure optimum business outcomes
  7. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close by working closely with internal stakeholders and finance team members.
  8. Prepare and publish timely & accurate numbers pertaining to revenue and A/R in the financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and internal KPI reporting.
  9. Work with statutory and internal auditors for timely and effective closure of audit findings. This included proactive audit planning, tracking, discussions, and the conclusion of issues.
  10. Ensure direct and indirect tax compliances in the areas of billing, cross border collections from overseas customers. Manage intercompany billing and fund movement.
  11. Support the Finance team in continuous improvement and innovation. Includes design, testing and roll-out of financial reporting systems/tools/processes impacting revenue and AR processes.
  12. Support finance leadership in process improvement initiatives as new system implementation, drafting technical accounting guidance for special or new transactions, implementing accounting standards such as revenue recognition

 Required Skills & Qualifications:

  1. A Chartered Account with 4-5 years experience (Industry and/or combined audit and industry experience preferred)
  2. Should have relevant experience into managing medium-scale finance operations and controllership responsibilities.
  3. Problem-solving and decision-making capacity in a high-growth environment.
  4. Demonstrated ability to build new capabilities, with a process orientation.
  5. Comfortable leading teams through ambiguity and being a champion of change.
  6. High emotional intelligence, ability to build and sustain relationships at multiple levels within and outside of finance.
  7. Passionate and persistent about operational excellence.
  8. Excellent written and oral communication skills, active listener, tailor communication to the audience.
  9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and adhere to tight deadlines.
  10. SaaS industry and working with MNC experience is desirable.
